- Indian feminist scholar Gita Sen won the prestigious Dan David Prize for the year 2020.
- She won the prize for her work in the fields of population policies, reproductive and sexual health, women’s rights, poverty, labor markets, etc.
- She is a Professor & Director at the Ramalingaswami Centre on Equity & Social Determinants of Health, at the Public Health Foundation of India.
- The Dan David Prize was founded in 2000 by Dan David Foundation. It carries three prizes of US$1 million each for outstanding achievement.
