PM Modi flags off first ever diesel-to-electric locomotive at DLW Varanasi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the first ever diesel-to-electric converted locomotive twin engine of 10,000 HP at DLW Varanasi.
He also inspected an exhibition on locomotives at Diesel Locomotive Works campus. Such locomotives will be more economical and will increase the speed of goods trains.
It was developed by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).
