Deepa Mehta, Indo-Canadian Filmmaker Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Indo-Canadian Film Director and Screenwriter Deepa Mehta to receive Lifetime Achievement Award by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
Deepa Mehta was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India though her family moved to New Delhi while she was still a child, and her father worked as a film distributor. But she had moved to Canada in 1973 after her marriage to documentary filmmaker Paul Saltzman.
Deepa Mehta is best known for her Elements Trilogy, Fire (1996), Earth (1998), and Water (2005) etc.
