- Sri Lankan cricketer Ajantha Mendis has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 34, after not having played in almost 4-years.
- He played 19-Tests, 87-ODIs, 39-T20 matches and takes 180 wickets for Sri Lanka. Mendis was known as the ‘Mystery Spinner’ due to the unusual bowling action.
- He has won the 'Emerging Player of the Year' award at the ICC Awards ceremony in Dubai on 10th September 2018.
