- The current Minister of Home Affairs- Mr. Amit Shah (age 54 years) flag off World's first eco-friendly electric buses in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
- He also unveiled the first automated battery charging and swapping station with a robotic arm for e-buses in Ahmedabad.
- Speaking on the occasion, Amit Shah said that;
i) Battery charging facilities for electric vehicles will come up in the future like petrol pumps.
ii) It would be faster to swap batteries as compared to petrol fueling.
iii) This would not just reduce pollution but also bring qualitative change in the life of people.
