- Former Indian cricketer Vakkadai Biksheswaran Chandrasekhar passed away due to a heart attack in Chennai, Tamilnadu. He was 58 years.
- During 1988-90, V. B. Chandrasekhar represented the country in 7-ODIs matches. He played 53 innings and scored 4999 runs at the average of 43.09 with 10 centuries.
- During 2004-06, Chandrasekhar was a National selector and served as the manager of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the first 3-years.
