India's first 3D Traffic Signal launched in Mohali, Punjab


  • India's first-of-its-kind 3D Traffic Signal launched in Mohali, Punjab. It designed by the students of a Chandigarh university.
  • The 3D Traffic Signal is a wireless system, named 'Intelights', and It has been installed by Mohali traffic police near the Airport on the basis of the pilot project.
  • The 3D Traffic Signal system, which was developed by University students over 3-years of intensive research, was in the test trial phase for the last 8-months before its final launch.
  • It uses CCTV cameras to gather live traffic video and automatically evaluates the traffic density using Artificial Intelligence, and sets the signal timers accordingly.
