BIS will set up Pashmina Testing Center in Leh Region

The Director-General of BIS Ms. Surina Rajan said that Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will set up a Pashmina Testing Center in Leh region of Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC).
Ms. Surina Rajan said that setting up of a Pashmina Testing Center Lab in Leh region would take 2-months time. She also said the standards testing will have lab, machines, and scientists to check the quality of pashmina collected.
She also said the BIS would train the local's people, with the help of Leh Hill Council, in marking of the standards to save the time and money.
