Exercise NCC Yogdan starts against Coronavirus infection


  • To fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, the Ministry of Defence has allowed temporary employment of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets under 'Exercise NCC Yogdan'. It has been launched as per the request of the Civil and police administration.
  • Exercise NCC Yogdan,
    - These cadets will give a helping hand to state and municipal authorities to augment relief efforts.
    - Ladakh UT has requisitioned for the employment of 8-cadets in supply chain management.
    - Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh has requisitioned for the employment of 245 cadets in supply chain and traffic management.
    - Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh (PHHPC) has requisitioned for the employment of 86 cadets.
    - Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu (TN) has requisitioned for the employment of 75-cadets.
    - Meghalaya Police has requisitioned for the employment of 80-cadets.
  • National Cadet Corps (NCC),
    - NCC is the largest uniformed youth and is a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. And, it is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis.
    - It was formed on 16th July 1948, its headquarter is in New Delhi, India. Its motto slogan is 'Unity and Discipline'.
