  • NASA 1st female astronaut, pilot Jerrie Cobb (age 88-years) passed away in Florida, USA.
  • In 1961, Cobb became the 1st female to pass astronaut testing. Altogether, 13 women who passed the preliminary screening test and became famous as the Mercury 13.
