Manu Sawhney assumed charge as ICC Chief Executive Officer


  • Current Affairs 2nd April 2019. Manu Sawhney has assumed charge as ICC Chief Executive Officer with "immediate effect".
  • He will replace the incumbent, Dave Richardson, whose 7-year tenure comes ends with the World Cup.
  • India-born Sawhney, the unanimous choice of the nominations committee, came to prominence during a 17-year-long career at ESPN-Star Sports (ESS), where he rose to become managing director.

    About ICC:- The ICC is the global governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. It was renamed as the International Cricket Conference in 1965 and took up its current name in 1989.
