Modi government can soon offer cashback and discount facility to promote digital transactions. For this, the central government is considering a proposal for cashback to the traders and giving a discount on the maximum retail price (MRP) to customers.
According to news agency IANS sources, the revenue department is considering a proposal in which those who make digital payments through the digital medium will get a discount on the MRP. This discount can be kept to a maximum of 100 rupees.
On the other hand, merchants, on the other hand, can be given cashback facility, which will be based on the level of business done through the digital medium. This proposal can be held at the GST Council meeting on May 4. The Council includes Finance Minister of all the States and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as its Chairman.
