The Minister of the Union of Railways and Coal, Shri Piyush Goyal, launched the UTTAM App for monitoring coal quality. UTTAM means - Unlocking Transparency by Third Party Assessment of Mined Coal. The Ministry of Coal Industry of India Limited (CIL) has developed UTTAM. It aims to provide an application for all citizens and coal consumers to monitor the process of selecting third-party coal parties through CIL subsidiaries. Important features of UTTAM APP are sampling coverage, auxiliary quality parameters, complaints about coal quality and coal import.
