In Commonwealth Games Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu Won First Gold Medal for India


Weightlifter and current world champion Mirabai Chanu won the first gold medal in the Commonwealth Games of 2018 in India. Mirabai Chanu becomes the first Indian to win the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games of 2018. After finishing the best lifting of 86 kg in a dash, the 23-year-old finished with a total score of 196 points. Chanu competes in the 48 kg category. The 23-year-old also recorded the records of the Commonwealth Games in both the Snatch (86 kg) categories and the "Clean and jerk" category (110 kg).
