In the 21st Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Indian Badminton players have performed well according to the expectations. Indian shuttlers had a tremendous victory on neighbouring Sri Lanka on the very first day. Indian Badminton players made a spectacular debut by defeating Sri Lanka 5-0 in Group A of the mixed team event.
In the first match played in the mixed doubles, India's Pranav Chopra & Gadde Ruthvika Shivani defeated Sri Lanka's Thilini Pramodika & Dina Das 21-15, 19-21, 22-20. However, in this match, the Indian duo had a great match against Sri Lanka, but they failed to win the match.
