Badminton's New Service Rules Will Not Apply in Commonwealth Games

Relief for Indian Badminton players participating in the Commonwealth Games is that the organizers have refused to implement the BWF's experimental service rules. Under the new service rule, the shuttle should be 1.15 meters above the ground at the time of service. This experiment was done in the All England Championship in March.

Apart from the Indian players, Denmark's Viktor Axelsen and the two-time Olympic champion China's Lin Dane had opposed it. The Commonwealth Games will be played only under the old rules, in which the shuttle should be equal to the height of the waist at the time of the service.
