- The union cabinet has approved the Rs 1100 crore for the construction of the Song Dam Drinking Water Project in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
- Objective,
- It will provide 24-hour drinking water to Dehradun and will also give a rebirth to River Rispana.
- The dam will be about 148m high and its objective to generate power up to 6 MW.
- Speaking on the occasion, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that, we are extremely thankful to the central government for providing such a unique gift.
