- Indian Naval Hydrographic Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar has won the 2019 Alexander Dalrymple Award for his contribution to Indian hydrography and across the Indian Ocean region.

Alexander Dalrymple Award 2019 is named after the first hydrographer Alexander Dalrymple, who was a Scottish geographer and the first Hydrographer of the British Admiralty. It was firstly presented by the UK Ministry of Defence in 2006, and sponsored by UKHO.
