The government of Israel has paid a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on the 159th birth anniversary by naming a street after him. The street starts right opposite the main gates of Tel Aviv University in Tel Aviv.
The decision to name a street after Tagore was taken by the Tel Aviv Municipality in 1961. This was done to commemorate the centenary of his birth. The street was named 'Rehov Tagore' where 'Rehov' means Street.
The above information was shared by the official Twitter handle of Israel in India. This account shares the picture of the street with the caption - We honor #RabindranathTagore today and every day.
