Shobhana Narasimhan elected as International Honorary Member to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences


  • JNCASR Professor Shobhana Narasimhan has been elected as the International Honorary Member to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
  • Shobhana Narasimhan,
    - She is a Professor of Theoretical Sciences Unit (TSU) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
    - She became a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India in 2011, and also received the Stree Shakti Samman Science Award in 2010 and the Kalpana Chawla Woman Scientist Award of the Government of Karnataka in 2010.
    - The American Academy of Arts and Sciences honors scholars and leaders who have distinguished themselves in the sciences, arts, humanities, and public life. The list of previous International Honorary Members includes Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, and Nelson Mandela.
