- The Union government has approved the Insurance Scheme under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package (PMGKB) for health workers who are fighting against the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
- The scheme will provide a Rs 50,00,000 insurance cover for 90 days to around Rs 22,12,000 public healthcare providers.
- The scheme will also include accidental loss of life on account of contracting COVID-19.
