IIT Gandhinagar, Gujarat launched Project 'Isaac'

  • On 26th March, the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), Gujarat has launched Project 'Isaac'. Its objective is to engage students in creative projects to enhance their critical skills during coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.
  • According to the Insititute, this project is inspired by Sir Isaac Newton, who was similarly sent home by Trinity College, Cambridge, because of the Great Plague of London in 1665 and he made significant discoveries related to calculus, as well as optics and gravity theories.
  • In spite of that, IIT Gandhinagar has also organized four more different competitions to cultivate new skills among students regarding writing, painting, coding, music, creative expression, and so on.
  • And, nearly 40% of IITGN students are already participating in various activities, which are entirely voluntary.
