- Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman launched the Rs 1,70,000 crore relief scheme under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan (PMGK) Yojana for the poor to help them fight the battle against Coronavirus.
- Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan (PMGK) Yojana,
- Under this scheme, It will give Insurance cover of Rs 50,00,000/- per health worker fighting COVID-19.
- And, 80 crore poor people will get 5 kg of wheat/ rice and 1 kg of pulses for free for the next three months.
- Whereas, 20 crore women Jan Dhan account holders will get Rs 500 per month for the next three months, etc.
