Konark Sun Temple and Statue of Unity included into 'Iconic Sites' list


  • According to the Union tourism minister Prahlad Singh Patel (age 59 years), the government is including the Konark Sun Temple and Statue of Unity to the list of monuments that will be developed as 'Iconic Sites' in India.
  • Konark Sun Temple,
    Konark Sun Temple (also known as Surya Mandira) is a 13th-century Sun Temple, that located at Konark, Odisha, India. The temple is attributed to King Narasinga Deva-I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty about 1250 CE.
  • Statue of Unity,
    - The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, that located at the Narmada District of Gujarat state in India. It is designed by Ram V. Sutar.
    - Statue of Unity was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 143rd birth anniversary of Patel on 31st October 2018.
