Malayalam poet Puthussery Ramachandran passed away at 91


  • Malayalam poet Puthussery Ramachandran Pillai passed away due to age-related illness. He was 91 years.
  • He was a member of the Syndicate of Kerala University. Besides, he was also the General Secretary of First World Conference on Malayalam language and Kerala Culture in 1977.
  • In 1971, he was the Organizing Secretary of the First All India Conference on Dravidian Linguistics.
  • List of Awards he was received,
    - In 2014, Bhasha Samman Award by Sahitya Akademi.
    - In 2005, Translation Award by Sahitya Akademi.
    - In 2009, Fellowship Award by Kerala Sahitya Akademi.
    - In 1999, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Overall Contributions, etc.
