Election Commission appointed Hirdesh Kumar as J&K new Chief Electoral Officer

On 16th March 2020, The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed Hirdesh Kumar as the new J&K Chief Electoral Officer. He will replace Shailendra Kumar.
He is an IAS officer of 1999 batch, who is serving as Commissioner Secretary in the J&K School Education Department.
Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT is Girish Chandra Murmu.
