  • Each year on 16th March National Vaccination Day, also known as National Immunization Day is observed throughout the country.
  • Objective,
    - The main objective of this day is to make all people aware of arming against polio and eradicating it completely.
    - And to aware of the importance of vaccination to the people.
  • Highlights,
    - According to the WHO survey, India was certified as a polio-free country of the South-East Asia Region on 27th March 2014.
    - The last polio case in India was found on 13th January 2011.
