Nupur Kulshrestha becomes first Woman DIG of Indian Coast Guard

Nupur Kulshrestha becomes the first woman to be promoted as DIG of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). She had joined the Indian Coast Guard services in 1999.
Indian Coast Guard,
- It is a premier Indian armed force that protects India's maritime interests and enforces maritime law.
- It was formed on 18th August 1978, HQ at New Delhi. It comes under the control of the Ministry of Defence.
- Till now, it has 15,714 active personnel.
- DG of Indian Coast Guard is Krishnaswamy Natarajan.
