- The Union Government has set-up a committee to work out modalities of Kisan Rail. The committee will include the representatives of Agriculture and Railway ministries.

Kisan Rail was proposed in the 2020 Union Budget to transfer perishables and doubling the farmer's income by 2022. And, it was set up through the public-private-partnership (PPP) model.

The committee will also look into the cold supply chain for perishables by starting the express and freight trains with refrigerated coaches.
