Bimal Julka sworn-as India's new Chief Information Commissioner


  • On 6th March 2020, Retired IAF officer Bimal Julka has appointed as the 10th Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission (CIC) of India. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind administered him the oath of office and secrecy at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
  • Bimal Julka replaced 9th CIC Sudhir Bhargava, who had been retired on 11th January 2020.
  • Chief Information Commissioner,
    - In the office of Central Information Commission has involved 1-Chief Information Commissioner and 10-Information
    Commissioners.
    - And, who are appointed by the President of India on the recommendation of a Selection Committee.
    - India's first CIC was Wajahat Habibullah, and the First Woman Chief Information Commissioner was Deepak Sandhu.
