- The Government of India inked an MoU with E-commerce giant Amazon under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) for e-marketing of products made by Self Help Groups (SHGs) throughout the country especially in urban areas.

- It will provide access to a wider customer base for products made by SHGs and strengthening the mission of creating sustainable livelihoods in urban areas.
- It will transform the lives of women entrepreneurs from across the country.
- It will be helpful in documenting and preserving the unique traditional Art and Crafts of different Indian states.

Amazon is an American E-commerce giant company that was founded by Jeff Bezos on 5th July 1994, based in Seattle, Washington (US). It is the World's fourth-largest company after Google, Apple, and Facebook.

- About DAY-NULM,
- It is a flagship program of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households.
- This scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
- Its primary objective is too focused on promoting self-employment and the organization of the rural poor. It provides gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities.
