68th All India Police Athletic Championship began

The 68th edition of All India Police Athletics Championship 2019 begins at Bhanu in the Panchkula District of Haryana.
The Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju (age 48 years) declared the meet open at the Basic Training Centre of ITBP. He said that with an aim to bring India in the top 10 in the Olympics scheduled in 2028, the government has identified 15,000 plus children and started their training across 284 Sports Authority of India (SAI) training centers across the country.
