India's first 'Restaurant on Wheels' launched at Asansol Railway Station


  • Indian Railway launched its first 'Restaurant on Wheels' at Asansol Railway station in West Bengal for the use of Railway passengers as well as the general public.
  • The Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Babul Supriyo (age 49 years) unveiled the Restaurant on Wheels, which was developed by refurbishing two over-aged MEMU coaches.
  • He also inaugurated two new AC Retiring Rooms and Electronic Reservation Chart Display System and a Battery-operated Car at Asansol Railway Station.
