- A team of researchers of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay led by Rajesh Zele has developed the Dhruva chip. It can be used in smartphones and navigation devices to find locations in all-weather conditions.
- Highlights,
- Dhruva chip will get signals from NAVIC navigation satellites (which is built by ISRO) and US Global Positioning System.
- It is a radio frequency chip, which is funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) with SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research) & Space Applications Centre (SAC) of ISRO.
