Karnataka Bank join-hands with Universal Sompo to launch COVID-19 Health Insurance


  • Karnataka Bank join-hands with Mumbai-based Universal Sompo General Insurance Company to launch COVID-19 health insurance policy. The objective of this policy is to providing insurance cover for individuals for COVID-19 pandemic related health expenses.
  • COVID-19 Health Insurance,
    - Its premium is Rs 399/- inclusive of all taxes.
    - The policy is available to all the Customers of the Bank in the age group of 18-65 years.
    - This policy will cover in-patient hospital expenses up to Rs 3,00,000, outpatient treatment expenses of Rs 3,000/- and will also provide a sum of Rs 1,000/- per day towards expenses incurred towards 14 days of quarantine at a government or military hospital.
    - The validity of this policy is 120 days.
    - The general public who are not existing customers of the bank will also be eligible to buy this policy immediately after establishing a banking relationship with our bank.
  • Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Limited,
    - Universal Sompo is a Public-Private joint venture in general insurance where two nationalized banks, namely Allahabad Bank and Indian Overseas Bank, one private sector bank namely Karnataka Bank Ltd, one FMCG namely Dabur Investment Corp and a leading general insurer from Japan namely Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc have formed a general insurance company.
    - It is India's first Public-Private Partnership in the General Insurance Industry.
