K. K. Venugopal period as Attorney General of India extended for a 1-year


  • K. K. Venugopal period as Attorney General of India extended for a 1-year. He had replaced Mukul Rohtagi in 2017. K. K. Venugopal is a leading lawyer of the country, which was appointed as Attorney General on 30th June 2017.
  • Besides, he has served as many of the higher positions such as;
    - served as the President of the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA - International Association of Lawyers) from 1996 to 1997.
    - served as the Royal Government of Bhutan to serve as the Constitutional adviser for the drafting of the Constitution of Bhutan.
  • Honors,
    - In 2015, awarded with Padma Vibhushan.
    - In 2002, awarded with Padma Bhushan.
