Krishnendu Majumdar has been elected as the new chairman of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). He replaced Pippa Harris, who had been appointed as the chairperson of BAFTA in 2018. Krishnendu Majumdar is the first person of color to be named as the chairman of BAFTA in its 73 year-long histories of BAFTA.
Prior to this, Krishnendu Majumdar had served as the; i) Chairman of the Learning and New Talent Committee from 2006-10. ii) Chairman of the Television Committee from 2015-19.
