- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed the Arun Singhal as the New Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). He replaced G.S.G Ayyangar. At present, Arun Singhal working as the Special Secretary to the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) was formed in 2011 in New Delhi. It comes under the control of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. It is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety.
- At Present, the Chairman of FSSAI is Rita Teotia.
