- The President of France has appointed Jean Castex as the new Prime Minister of France. He is a former member of The Republicans (LR), and working as Mayor of Prades, a provincial town in Southern France. He was elected as Mayor of Prades in 2008. He has also served under Health Minister Xavier Bertrand as Chief of Staff in Francois Fillon's ministry.
