36th Edition of ASEAN Summit held in Hanoi, Vietnam


  • The 36th edition of the ASEAN Summit had held in Hanoi, Vietnam through video conferencing. The main objective of this Summit was on the COVID-19 epidemic response, post-pandemic recovery, and further cooperation with partners.
  • Theme,
    - The theme for the 2020 ASEAM Summit was "Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN".
    - It was scheduled to be held in April 2020 at Da Nang, Vietnam. But, it was postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
  • About ASEAN Summit,
    - The ASEAN Summit is a biannual meeting held by the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in relation to the economic, political, security, and socio-cultural development of Southeast Asian countries.
    - The first ASEAN Summit was held in February 1976 in Bali, Indonesia. Its headquarter is in Jakarta, Indonesia.
    - At Present, the Secretary-General of ASEAN is Lim Jock Hoi.
    - List of the ASEAN Member States or Countries:- Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos.
