- Under the initiative of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), India's first Super Fab Lab inaugurated in Kochi city of Kerala.
- This lab will give a major push to the hardware industry in the country and the only such facility outside the U.S.A.
- The 12th Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Pinarayi Vijayan (age 75 years) inaugurated the facility through remote control from Palakkad.
- This lab will function in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
