- The 8th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand state Shri Trivendra Singh (age 59 years) Rawat has inaugurated Suryadhar lake at Doiwala. It is located at the tri-junction of Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun.
- About Suryadhar Lake,
- It has been built at a cost of Rs 50.25 crore.
- It is 550m long, 28m wide & 10m deep.
- The lake will provide drinking water and irrigational facility for around 20 villages.
- The lake will act as a tourist as well as a water sports destination.
- Besides, the state government plans to organize a water sports festival at the lake either by Makar Sankranti or Basant Panchami.
