- The Government of Assam state has launched the Dhanwantari scheme for providing locally unavailable medicines to the patients at their homes.
- Under Dhanwantari Scheme,
Those medicines below Rs 200/- will be provided free of cost to patients. Besides, Health workers are delivering medicines for patients who cannot get it within 10 kilometers of their radius.
Speaking on the occasion, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, 260 calls have been received within 4 hours of launching the scheme. He said that 42 requests among them have already been addressed.
- Meanwhile, the Regional News Unit of AIR Guwahati will broadcast a special COVID-19 phone-in a program on the Assam Cares initiative of the state government.
