- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed the Kapil Dev Tripathi as the new Secretary to President of India on a contract basis and co-terminus. He will replace Sanjay Kothari, who was selected as the Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) in February.
- Kapil Dev Tripathi is the former 1980-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Prior to taking up this assignment, he worked as the Chairman of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
