IIT Ropar developed 'WardBot' for COVID-19 infected patients


  • The team of researchers of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, Punjab has developed the 'WardBot'. The objective of WardBot is to deliver food and medicine to COVID-19 infected patients in their isolation wards.
  • WardBot,
    - WardBot is fitted with sensors that can work on a known path and it will be enabled to deliver food and medicine at different beds to patients in the ward. Besides, it has a feature of the Self-sanitising on the return path. And, it can be used for sanitizing the walls.
    - The WardBot includes 12-shelves. And, it carrying capacity of 4-5 kg items to 10 to 12 patients at a time.

    IIT Ropar is an engineering, science, and technology higher education institute that was established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It is one of the 8th IITs of India.
