- Ashok Desai, the Former Attorney General of India passed away on 13th April 2020 at the age of 77. He had held the position of Attorney General office from 9th July 1996 to 6th May 1998. And, he was also holding the post of Solicitor General of India from 18th December 1989 to 2nd December 1990.

i) In 2000, the National Law Day Award.
ii) In 2001, the Padma Bhushan Award.
iii) In 2016, the Supreme Court of India Award.
iv) In 2018-19, Conferred 'Lifetime Achievement Award' in Legal Era Awards.
