PNBHFL inked MoU with JICA to raise $75 million


  • The Punjab National Bank Housing Finance Limited (PNBHFL) has inked an MoU with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to raise $75 million (around Rs 568 crore) to finance mortgage loans in the affordable housing segment.
  • The pact is also co-financing by Citibank of $25 million.
  • Objective,
    - The main objective of this agreement is to provide affordable housing to low-income households in India based on the facility for accelerating financial inclusion in Asia.
  • PNBHFL,
    The PNB Housing Finance Limited (PNBHFL) is an Indian public limited housing finance company that was founded on 11th November 1988, headquartered in New Delhi, India.
    - PNBHFL Managing Director (MD) is Sanjaya Gupta.
  • JICA,
    - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a governmental agency that coordinates Official Development Assistance (ODA) for the Government of Japan.
    - It was formed on 1st October 2003, headquarter is in Chiyoda, Tokyo (Japan).
    - At present, the President of JICA is Shinichi Kitaoka.
