SEBI extended Madhabi Puri Buch term for six-months


  • The central government led by PM Modi has extended the Madhabi Puri Buch term as a Whole Time Member (WTM) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for six-months.
  • Madhabi Puri Buch is the only first woman to be elected as the SEBI Whole Time Member (WTM) and also the first person from the private sector to do so.
  • Prior to this, She served as Consultant to the New Development Bank in Shanghai and had also headed the Singapore office of the private equity firm, Greater Pacific Capital.
  • Madhabi Puri Buch was appointed as SEBI WTM in April 2017 for a period of three years. While another WTMs of SEBI was appointed for a period of five years.
