- Noted American singer-songwriter and musician Bill Withers passed away due to heart disease in Los Angeles. He was 81 years.
- During his music career, he recorded several hit song, including 'Ain't No Sunshine (1971)', 'Grandma's Hands (1971)', 'Use Me (1972)', 'Lean on Me (1972)', Lovely Day (1977)', and 'Just the Two of Us (1980)'.
- He had also won three Grammy Awards for his song 'Ain't No Sunshine', 'Just the two of us' and 'Lean on Me'.
