- Every year on 4th April International Mine Awareness Day is celebrated throughout the globe. The objective of this day is to spread awareness about the threat caused by landmines.
- This day was declared by United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 8th December 2005 as the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.
